It's been a while since I posted anything because I haven't been doing much personal development lately. I find I have a limited amount of "coding" in me on a given day, and personal development tends to happen when work is slow. Blog posts happen when I solve an interesting problem on personal time.
The last few weeks have not been slow at work, which is a good thing for me. I love my job, and being able to code at work tends to be a better environment than coding at home: it forces me to have my work reviewed (and by good people), it forces me to always write unit and integration tests, and it gets me thinking about patterns for larger applications.
That being said, I don't want being busy at work to stop me from updating this blog. The programmers I look up to have all said that keeping a technical blog has improved them as developers. This is something I really want to stick to, I am just not really clear on where the legal lines are with respect to my contract. I am pretty sure I can't talk about specific implementations, but I think I can still write about solutions to individual problems. I need to take some time and talk to my manager about this.
There isn't much here, but I figure even having a fluff post will help me reinforce the habit.
